Captain Abdullah Ali Al-Farhan is a maritime affairs and shipping expert, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of SN Arabia, and an entrepreneur in international trade and logistics. His professional background combines practical maritime experience, government service, specialized media, and international trade.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transport and Port Management from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT). He continues to develop his academic and professional expertise with plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Shipping and Transportation, further strengthening his knowledge of maritime transport, logistics, supply chains, and international trade.

Government Experience

Captain Abdullah Ali Al-Farhan previously served as Director General of Policies and Economics within the Maritime Affairs Sector at the Yemeni Ministry of Transport, where he contributed to the preparation and follow-up of policies and studies related to maritime transport and supported efforts aimed at developing Yemen’s maritime sector and strengthening cooperation with regional and international organizations.

He was also appointed as an official focal point between the Yemeni Ministry of Transport and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).

In this capacity, he was responsible for institutional coordination, following regional transport programmes and initiatives, participating in technical meetings and workshops, and contributing to the preparation and follow-up of relevant reports and studies.

Entrepreneurship

Captain Al-Farhan is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MFR Shipping, Transport and Trading, a company operating in shipping, logistics, international trade, and the development of transport and supply-chain solutions.

The company focuses on developing commercial partnerships connecting regional and international markets and providing integrated solutions in import, export, shipping, and logistics services.

Alongside his business activities, Captain Abdullah Ali Al-Farhan is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of SN Arabia, an Arabic news platform specializing in maritime affairs.
